• Queuetastic 1.2.1 Update

    We’re pleased to announce the release of Queuetastic version 1.2.1. This update rolls in a number of bug fixes and performance enhancements, a little UI update, and updates our compliance with Netflix branding requirements. If you already own Queuetastic, the update should be appearing in iTunes. If you don’t already own a copy, head on over to the App Store to buy it for only $0.99.

    Moreover, our updated compliance with Netflix’s branding requirements isn’t happening in a vacuum. Watch here for some exciting updates about the app! Stay tuned!

  • Trouble Logging In?

    If anyone had trouble logging in to their Netflix account on Queuetastic over the weekend, the reason was likely a bug in the Netflix authentication system. The folks over at Netflix were fantastic and solved this problem right away, so you should be OK from here on out. Thanks for your patience, and thanks to Netflix for addressing the issue so quickly!

  • Coming Soon: Queuetastic 2.0

    We’ve been hard at work on our next release, Queuetastic 2.0. This major update will include a number of often-requested features:

    • Browse functionality. Our most requested feature, which we’re now pleased to say we’ve got working quite well. Browse by genre, new releases, or the Netflix Top 100.
    • Availability information. See how long it will take to get a movie, so you’re not left with the dreaded “long wait” at the top of your queue.
    • More intuitive user interface. Add movies to your queue from within the movie details screen, move quickly between movies in your queue, and more.
    • Better Blu-ray support. Select a disc format on a per-movie basis, instead of using your global Blu-ray preferences for all movies.
    • Delete saved movies.
    • Bug fixes and performance improvements.

    We have another few weeks of final development, testing, and App Store submission before the new version will find its way to you. Stay tuned for more updates and thanks for your patience!

  • Version 1.2 update arrives

    Our Valentine’s Day gift to our users is the release of version 1.2 of Queuetastic. This ended up being a relatively small maintenance update, but does include the overall most-requested feature: the ability to filter search results by availability on Blu-ray or Instant Watch. Search results also reflect whether a movie is already in your queue. Please enjoy!

  • Planned features

    There are quite a few features that I still want to include in Queuetastic. Here’s an overview of what’s in the works and when I plan to include them:

    Version 1.2

    • Enhanced search, including the ability to filter search results by format (Blu-ray, Instant)
    • Movie recommendations

    Future Versions

    • Browse by genre and most-rented movies. Note: Browse features are not currently part of the Netflix API, but their team is working on adding it. I may be able to add a rudimentary browse functionality without it, but it will be much more feature-rich once browsing is part of the official API.
    • Write reviews of movies
    • Find movies that are popular near your location

  • Version 1.1 released!

    Queuetastic version 1.1 is now available on the App Store! For those who bought version 1.0, you should receive the update through iTunes or on your iPhone. Thanks to Apple for a quick approval!

  • Version 1.1 update on the way

    Queuetastic version 1.1 was submitted to the Apple for review a few days ago, and with any luck will be on its way to you shortly. Included are a few features that have been frequently requested. I opted to push out some of the most asked-for features first, and then go to work on the 1.2 update with some more, rather than make everyone wait longer for a bigger update. Features included in version 1.1:

    • Rate movies
    • View details about movies in search results, including a cast list and synopsis
    • See saved movies in your queue that have not yet been released on DVD
    • Search for people as well as movie titles
    • Updated user interface

    Hopefully Apple’s review will be quick and the update will be appearing on your phones in short order!
